Monkey Mart Overview
Monkey Mart is an idle supermarket management game where you control a monkey who runs their own store. Your job is to harvest products, keep shelves stocked, and serve customers — all while expanding your store and hiring helpers to automate the process.
The game starts simple but grows into a satisfying idle experience as you unlock new sections and automate more of your store's operations.
Controls
Desktop
WASD or Arrow Keys to move your monkey in any direction.
Mobile / Tablet
Use the on-screen joystick in the bottom-left corner to move.
Mouse (optional)
Some actions can be triggered by clicking, but keyboard/joystick is recommended.
Step-by-Step: Your First 5 Minutes
Step 1 – Harvest Your First Crop
When you start, you'll see a banana plant in the top section of your store. Walk your monkey over it and you'll automatically pick up bananas. Your monkey can carry several items at once.
Step 2 – Stock the Banana Shelf
After harvesting, walk to the banana shelf (marked with a banana icon). Your monkey will automatically place the bananas on the shelf. Customers will now be able to buy them.
Step 3 – Watch Customers Come In
Customers enter from the left side of the store. They walk to a shelf, pick up an item, and head to the checkout counter on the right. You earn coins for each sale. The more stocked your shelves are, the more customers you can serve.
Step 4 – Keep Cycling
Your main job in the early game is to keep cycling between the crop area and the shelves. Harvest → Stock → Repeat. As you earn more coins, you can start upgrading.
Step 5 – Buy Your First Upgrade
Click on any locked section or upgrade icon to see what's available. The first upgrade to buy is usually the Corn section or a helper monkey. Helper monkeys automate harvesting so you can focus on stocking.
Understanding the Store Layout
Your supermarket is divided into sections, each selling a different product:
- 🍌 Banana Section – Starting section, fast to harvest
- 🌽 Corn Section – First unlock, higher value
- 🥛 Dairy Section – Mid-game unlock, good income
- 🍫 Chocolate Section – Late-game, high value
- 🥚 Egg Section – Steady income, easy to automate
- 🍦 Ice Cream Section – Premium section, top earnings
Each section has its own crop area, shelf, and can be assigned a helper monkey.
Upgrades Explained
Helper Monkeys
Helper monkeys are the most important upgrade in the game. Each helper is assigned to a specific section and will automatically harvest crops and stock shelves for that section. Once you have helpers covering all sections, your store runs on autopilot.
Checkout Speed
Upgrading the checkout counter reduces the time each customer spends paying. This directly increases your coins-per-minute, making it one of the best value upgrades in the game.
Carry Capacity
Increasing your monkey's carry capacity means fewer trips between the crop area and the shelves. This is especially useful in the early game before you have helpers.
Section Unlocks
Each new section you unlock adds a new product type, attracting more customers and increasing your total earning potential. Unlock sections in order — don't skip ahead, as each section builds on the previous one's income.
Idle Mechanics – Earning While Away
Monkey Mart is an idle game, which means your store continues to earn coins even when you're not actively playing — as long as you have helper monkeys assigned. When you come back after a break, you'll find a pile of coins waiting for you.
The longer you leave the game idle, the more you earn. This makes Monkey Mart perfect for playing in short sessions throughout the day.
